IH-610
West Loop Reconstruction (phase 1 completed
2002)
This
project sits in the city of Bellaire, an upscale, residential area located
near downtown Houston. The retaining walls for this project were
made of form-lined concrete; which were painted to resemble real antique
Chicago-style brick. Due to the superior quality of work completed
on this project; our company was awarded the Texas Quality Initiative Making
a Difference Award for "Breaking the Mold." This could not of been
possible without the partnering of Williams Brothers Construction Company
and the TXDOT, Houston District.

SH-114
near Gateway Dr. in Southlake, TX
This
project is located in Southlake City which is north of Fort Worth, TX.
The form-lined concrete retaining walls on this project were painted to
give them an appearance that resemble lime stone rock. Stamped in
the side of the retaining wall are Texas emblems that feature hand-painted
scenes such as bald eagles draped in an American flag and American warplanes
flying in the sky.

"Big
I" Reconstruction Project (completed May 2002)
The
"Big I" is located at the intersection of the Coronado Interstate (IH-40)
and the Pan American Freeway (IH-25). This project consisted of 55
bridges and several concrete sound walls. The "Big I" was the single
largest highway construction effort in the history of the state of New
Mexico. In this project alone Scott Derr Painting stained over 8
million square feet of concrete. In addition to painting the structures
for this project, Scott Derr Painting helped develop two color schemes
for the project. What makes this project stand out is that the decision
was placed on the traveling public in which they cast their vote over the
internet for their desired color scheme. The rest was left up to
Scott Derr Painting to make it turn out right.

Otay
River Bridge, California (July
2007)
Balanced cantilever
segment erection on this twenty-two cantilevers bridge. One of the
most remarkable feats of engineering is this Otay River Bridge stretching
across the Otay River Valley. On 28 March 2007 the last segment of South
Bay Expressway’s Otay River Bridge was erected – a significant milestone
in the construction of the 10-mile South Bay Expressway opening in summer
2007. The Otay River Bridge a ‘precast segmental bridge’, and there is
only one other like it in California: the San Francisco-Oakland East Bay
Skyway Bridge, currently under construction.

Living
History Farms Tunnel (historical
attraction)
Below
are pictures of the tunnel at the Living History Farms (Historical Attraction).
This tunnel is designed to allow horse drawn carriages to carry spectators
from the east to the west side of the historical park through this tunnel.
On the east side of the tunnel are farms, ranches, and equipment from the
1800's. When traveling to the west side of the tunnel spectators
experience farms, ranches, and equipment from the early 1900's to the 1930's.
This
tunnel was painted to simulate cedar wood on the top section with simulated
rock on the bottom section. It was a pleasure working with Mr. Olson
and the Iowa Department of Transportation including Cramer & Associates
who was the prime contractor for this project.
